REVIEW Super Mario 3D Land

Alright.
Princess Peach is in trouble again, and its Mario to the rescue, AGAIN.
Only this time in 3D!!!!!!!!
Is this just another adventure or has Mario saved the day once again?

Right from the get go I was excited for this game. I checked everything out and made sure that I knew what I was getting myself into.
 I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.

Story - The story is the same with every Mario game out there, save Peach, beat Bowser, ETC. The story isn't a strong part of this game (like the others) but what it lacks in depth of story it flys in gameplay.

Gameplay - You will run, fly, swim all over these maps. In the beginning you will probably say to yourself "Wow this isn't that hard," but once you come to around world 8 it will get a lot harder then you expect it to be. You will fight things like the typical Goomba's and Koopa Troopers, but new to the series you will fight Draglets (blue dragons with stubby wings) Tanooki Boos (Ghost with tanooki tail) and so much more. New items to this game are things such as Warp Boxes which brings you from one part of the map to another (Usually to get to the flag) and also the infamous Tanooki tail is back for all you Mario lovers. The 3D isn't useless but its not needed in this game. You mainly use the 3D just to look at things from a different perspective. You use the gyroscope in the 3DS to aim a cannon to shoot Mario to different places around the map.

Graphics - This game has shown me that a handheld device such as the 3DS can produce amazing graphics. From the fire, to the water, to the clouds everything was just a site to see. You get a sense of being in a colorful wonderland that is the kingdom. Beautifully done.

Replay Value - High

Multiplayer - None

Closing Statements - Overall I would highly recommend this to any owner of the 3DS. This is a great game to have in your collection. It shows that an old dog can learn new tricks. From the level designs to the amazing art work that was on the cartridge, I not only enjoyed playing through every second of this game but it showed me that the 3DS is nothing to fuck with when its in the right hands. The colorful blocks that shape the world, to the monster that inhabit it, Mario's new adventure is a fantastic journey that everyone should experience.

9/10
